Australia – get ready to watch some of your favourite podcasts.

No, that’s not a type-o, some of the world’s premier podcasts are set to be played on Australian big screens late next month.

The Cast Party has been touted as “the Lollapalooza of podcasts” and is set to stream across the US live on July 28, but will now also be screened in a select amount of Australian cinemas late in August / early September, as part of an international celebration of the best of the medium.

Featuring some of the biggest and most endearing names of the medium, including Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich of the legendary science series Radiolab; Lulu Miller from NPR’s rising star show Invisibilia; PJ Vogt and Alex Goldman of the internet savvy Reply All series; an improv comedy show with Comedy Bang Bang regular Lauren Lapkus; and the wonderful audio drama podcast The Truth; it’s going to be a great event for fellow, local podcast nerds to come together and celebrate some of our favourite audio story-tellers.

So get ready for some of the most highfalutin Tinder profiles you’ve ever seen gathered in any one area at any one time, with screenings happening in Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart and Sydney.
