If You Listen To One New Song This Week, Listen To WALKEN
Every now and then a tune comes along that tickles a sweet spot in your brain.
Like a feather duster who’s tendrils creep up your nose, it hits something powerful in you. WALKEN didn’t exactly make us sneeze when they dropped their new single, but they awakened something excellent when their new single tickled all the right places.
The Brisbane duo have been gigging for a little while now, you may have seen them play recently with The Peep Tempel, Smith Street Band, Clowns or Violent Soho. As a two-piece they pack some real punch in a live setting and damn we can’t wait to see how this tune goes over live. Even If It Kills Me is reminiscent of some early Make Do And Mend and the hooky chorus is very Voilent Soho- the vaguely nasal 90’s vocals reminds us of them as well. The irony is that these dudes are so young that we suspect they missed most of the 90s.
As for the music video which dropped last week- we have no idea what’s going on. See if you can figure it out.
