This really resonated with us.

Today the immensely popular punk band Jawbreaker received a letter in the mail, no name or return address listed on the envelope. When drummer Adam Pfhaler opened it, a cheque for $1800 US falls out. He figures it’s someone trying to order merch from their website. Someone who is fed up with Big Cartel and decided to just send a mail order instead.

Then he reads the note:

Yeah, wow. Not just because he was honourable enough to return the money to the band that he cheated as a young, dumb kid. Not because he returned his earnings three fold. But because of that last line. “I feel I owe you more than this because I don’t think I’d be alive today if it weren’t for the music you guys created”.

I often have those moments, drowning in the sounds of my favourite band, where I’m so overcome with gratitude for their music that I’m compelled to run to their Big Cartel and buy all of their things. I usually stop when I notice that the shipping fee to Australia is twice the price of the gear….But this is next level. Kudos anonymous fanboy.
