Rice Is Nice’s ALL GRRRL mixtape: hear the first 3 tracks
Champion Sydney indie label Rice is Nice cranks out a bucket load of terrific music.
With acts like The Laurels, Summer Flake, Straight Arrows, Donny Benet, Sarah Mary Chadwick and Darts on their roster (and that’s just naming a few), they’ve got their finger on the pulse of indie rock in this country and do a stellar job of releasing new records each year with only a limited operation.
And that’s made no more clear with the fact that the label is set to release a new ALL GRRRL mixtape tomorrow, featuring a swag of amazing female Australian artists that are both signed to Rice Is Nice, as well as other rad labels around the country.
The first three tracks have just been made available to stream online and come from Melbourne’s Asian 50s rock inspired outfit Empat Lima, Adelaide post-rockers Terrible Truths, and Brisbane’s dream pop purveyors Major Leagues, but the full tape has a really impressive and eclectic track-listing, featuring artists likes of Bloods, Miss Destiny, Tempura Nights, Le Pie, Palm Springs, Suiix, Totally Mild & Julia Why?
Plus all proceeds from sales are set to go to YWCA Australia – what a bunch of legends.
You can pre-order the tape from the Rice Is Nice store here before it’s released May 1, and you can stream those first three tracks below:
