For a band that has been firmly lumped in the ‘metalcore’ category – the awkward, acne-riddled, younger brother of metal – Parkway Drive stand out like dogs balls.

If you were to choose any band to dominate on the international music scene, echoing their jarring Australian accents over throngs of festival audiences, we choo-choo-choose Parkway Drive. Over their rather epic 13 year career they have managed to almost single-handedly destroy the rather outdated, passe notion that bands go on tour primarily to get shitfaced and knee deep in vagina.

Their previous two documentaries show the band instead utilising the excellent travel opportunities afforded to them by their music to tear up the epic natural landscapes and have excellent adventures. Whether it be surfing, hiking, or solo motorbike riding across vast expanses of regional roadways, Parkway have always impressed us with their flare for the fantastic and their video for new song ‘Vice Grip’ is no exception.

Seriously, how many bands could boast that every member was willing to jump out of a plan repeatedly for the sake of their new music video. There’d always be at least one member who insists he doesn’t mind staying back and minding everyone’s bags. Not our boys.

‘Vice Grip’ is taken from the upcoming album Ire which is out September 25 via Resist Records. The band will bash out a headlining Australian tour around release.
